Hello Dancers and Families!
Each year as I type my back to dance letter I get so excited to put on my dancing shoes!! We've missed seeing all of our students and dance families during the summer, and we can't wait to meet many new faces so....welcome and welcome back! Tall Miss Erin, Little Miss Erin (lovingly referred to as The Erins:), Miss Mary, Miss Lindsay, Mr. Dennis and I are busy choosing music and planning choreography. The studio is just about set for the sounds of tap shoes and barre music! With all of the summer fun my family has enjoyed, some of my most fond memories were finding dance in unexpected places! Dancing in my kitchen while doing the third sink full of dishes of the day with some very loud music playing from my iPod (I'm sure some of you have done that too:). My daughters, nieces and youngest son impromptu dancing one morning on vacation. Those same kiddos walking down memory lane and filling my living room as they danced along to a video tutorial of the Hoedown Throwdown (oh the Hannah Montana years:), my girls wishing they could stay for a USO dance at a D-Day reenactment we visited..... One special moment happened as I had my dancing feet propped up and was enjoying a sunny afternoon while reading a dance magazine. On the last page was a coloring sheet of an alumni of the studio, Gene Kelly. It was his iconic Singing In The Rain pose. What made me smile while reading it was the history....one I've heard many times of how he started dance when not many fellas did. It's a story that was passed from Miss Ruth Fairgrieve, to her daughter Miss Nancy and on to me! Little things like that are one of my favorite parts of our dance family!
Classes start Tuesday, September 3!
Registration is open and online!
Enjoy this beautiful day and....
Let's Dance!
